Still one of my favourite places in the US. My wife and I visited while on honeymoon. I miss it dearly.
I have been to the fort twice. The first time was 1998 when I was 16. It was wonderful and the tour was outstanding. I swear I could smell the bread at the oven in the only part of the fort at the time that had not been fixed up. I wore an army surplus BDU jacket and I was fat and that day I knew I wanted to be a soldier. I became a soldier in 2000. My second time was in 2010. Great experience for the whole family! It was a pleasure to meet dedicated enthusiasts of the times long passed. It’s like we traveled in time. Uniformed soldiers of British garrison, muskets, cannons, women and children dressed in the 17th century couture… Unforgettable day!
INCREDIBLE!!! I love military history and for so long The name FortTiconderoga was just a name in so many books i read until last weekend i made the trip from Rochester with 2 other fellow history lovers!
